The South Wales TRF Xmas 23 Turkey Hunt ride got off to a false start having to be rescheduled at short notice due to storm Gerrit. The ride eventually happened on the 30th Dec and 57 riders turned out split into seven groups. The weather was kind as it didn’t rain until the bikes were loaded back in the vans.
Abergavenny was this year’s start finish point and groups headed off in all directions so as not to overuse any green roads. Ride routes were plotted for all abilities on trail and enduro bikes and even a quadricycle. A separate ride was put on for adventure bikes.
Plenty of wet lanes were ridden with opportunity for lots of group bonding (oo er!) banter and laughs with riders helping each other over the terrain.
Despite their best effort no one found Tina the turkey but all returned with big smiles. Roll on Christmas 2024.
