South Wales TRF – I.T. Support

Hi all, I’ve been a member of South Wales TRF group for about 5 to 6 years. The group has transformed over the recent years and it’s been amazing to have been part of that journey. I’m no web developer but it’s been an interest so to be able to learn a new skill and create this very website whilst contributing to the group has been great.
I’ve not been riding off-tarmac for very long. I had a brief go back in 2005 on a KTM400EXC but to be honest I didn’t really like it at the time as I was having too much fun riding road bikes. I also found trying to find green lanes really difficult which is what eventually led me to the TRF. I decided that I should convert the KTM to Supermoto trim and do some tarmac hill climb events for a bit of fun. However after the first few events I realised that the bike was never going to be able to compete against the 450’s that I was racing against so it was put back to enduro mode and sold. I did actually do a track day at Pembrey Circuit on it which was fun but it was again too slow. A KTM560SMR followed and that was far better. I did some more hill climb events at Margam Park and Epynt ranges and some trackday’s at Pembrey and Llandow and it was far better at bothering the sports bikes. The hill climbs then led to entering Aberdare Park Road Races from 2010 (had a bit of an off!!) until 2017 with my best result of 3rd Place in 2015.
After 2017 I guess I was looking for the next biking adventure and then I ended up back on an enduro bike. I bought a KTM300EXC and did the Early Bird Enduro with the WTRA club. It was advertised as a beginner friendly event – however the reality of my lack of skills and some tricky tracks meant didn’t go well. However I stuck with it and have since done that event and finished it along with a load of other events from enduro, hare and hounds to rallies on enduro bikes and adventure bike events. I’m now on a blue bike as you can see from the picture.
